Care Level: Moderate to Advanced. This species requires stable water parameters and a well-maintained environment.
Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial with conspecifics or similar species. Best kept singly or in a large tank with ample hiding spaces.
Diet: Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet including meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, krill, chopped seafood, and high-quality marine pellets to ensure optimal health.
Minimum Tank Size: At least 250 litres (approximately 65 gallons) to provide sufficient swimming space and reduce territorial behaviour.
Lighting Requirements: Standard marine aquarium lighting is sufficient; no special lighting needs.
Water Flow: Moderate water movement mimicking natural reef currents is ideal.
Placement: Provide plenty of rockwork and hiding places. This snapper appreciates a structured environment to establish territory.
