This species is a hardy invertebrate that can adapt well to reef environments, making it a popular choice among hobbyists.

Feeding: Omnivorous scavengers, they thrive on a varied diet including meaty foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood, alongside algae and detritus. Supplementing with specialised invertebrate pellets or flakes is beneficial.
Compatibility and Reef Safety: Rhynchocinetes durbanensis is generally peaceful and reef safe, posing no threat to corals or other invertebrates. They coexist well with a variety of tank mates but avoid housing with aggressive fish or larger predatory invertebrates.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 30 litres is advisable to provide sufficient space and stable water conditions. Moderate water flow and moderate lighting replicate their natural habitat. Provide plenty of live rock and crevices for hiding and foraging.
