The Entacmaea quadricolor, commonly known as the Red Bubble Tip Anemone, is a popular choice among marine aquarium enthusiasts for its vibrant colouration and dynamic tentacle movement. This Extra Large specimen offers a stunning focal point in any mature reef aquarium.
Care Level: Moderate to Advanced. This species requires stable water parameters and mature tank conditions to thrive.
Feeding: While Entacmaea quadricolor can derive nutrients from photosynthesis via their symbiotic zooxanthellae, supplemental feeding is recommended. Offer meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, finely chopped seafood, or specialised anemone pellets 1-2 times per week to promote health and growth.
Compatibility & Reef Safety: Generally reef safe with caution. This anemone may sting nearby corals and invertebrates if placed too close. It is compatible with certain anemonefish species, which often form symbiotic relationships.
Placement & Environment: Provide moderate to strong lighting to support photosynthesis, ideally using quality LED or T5 aquarium lights. Moderate water flow is preferred to gently move tentacles without causing damage. Position the anemone on a stable rock base with enough space to expand fully without touching other corals.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 120 litres (approximately 30 gallons) is recommended to accommodate its size and ensure stable water conditions.
Origin: Not Provided.
Maximum Size: Up to 30 cm in diameter when fully expanded.
