The Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis, commonly known as the Rhomboid Wrasse, is a captivating addition to any marine aquarium. This pair showcases vibrant colours and graceful swimming behaviour, making them a favourite among experienced marine aquarists.
Temperament and Compatibility: These wrasses are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive tank mates. They are best housed in a species-appropriate community or reef tank where they have ample space to swim and hide.
Diet: Cirrhilabrus rhomboidalis are carnivorous and thrive on a varied diet of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, finely chopped seafood, and specialised pellet or flake foods designed for wrasses. Feeding should be done 2-3 times daily to maintain optimal health.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 120 litres (approximately 30 gallons) is recommended to provide sufficient swimming space and territory. A well-established aquarium with live rock for hiding and foraging is essential.
Water Parameters and Environment: Stable marine conditions with a temperature range of 24-27°C, salinity of 1.023-1.025 SG, and pH between 8.1-8.4 are ideal. Moderate water flow and good filtration will help maintain water quality.
Reef Compatibility: This species is considered reef safe with caution, as they may occasionally nip at small invertebrates. Careful monitoring is advised when introducing them to reef tanks.
Available in various sizes, these pairs offer flexibility for aquarists looking to add vibrant life to their marine setups.
