This medium-sized butterflyfish is a popular choice among marine aquarium enthusiasts who have experience maintaining delicate species.
Care Level: Moderate to advanced. This species requires stable water parameters and a mature aquarium environment.
Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful but can be territorial towards conspecifics or similar-shaped butterflyfish. Best kept singly or as a mated pair in a suitably sized tank. Compatible with other non-aggressive fish species.
Diet: Omnivorous. Requires a varied diet including high-quality frozen or fresh meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and specialised prepared diets formulated for butterflyfish. Supplement with marine algae or spirulina to ensure balanced nutrition.
Minimum Tank Size: At least 150 litres (40 US gallons) to provide adequate swimming space and territory.
