The Entacmaea quadricolor, commonly known as the Bubble Tip Anemone, is a popular choice for marine aquarists seeking a striking green invertebrate to enhance their reef aquarium. This Tiny Tank-Bred specimen offers vibrant colouration and a manageable size, making it suitable for hobbyists with some experience in anemone care.
Feeding: While Entacmaea quadricolor benefits from photosynthesis via its symbiotic zooxanthellae, it also requires supplemental feeding. Offer meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, or finely chopped seafood 1-2 times per week to promote healthy growth.
Compatibility and Reef Safety: This anemone is generally reef safe and compatible with many reef inhabitants, especially clownfish species which often form symbiotic relationships. However, caution is advised as it can sting nearby corals and invertebrates if placed too close.
Care Requirements: Maintain stable water parameters with temperatures between 24-27°C, salinity at 1.023-1.025 SG, and moderate to strong lighting to support its photosynthetic needs. Moderate water flow is ideal to keep the tentacles gently moving without causing stress.
Placement: Position the anemone on a stable rock or substrate area where it can attach securely and receive adequate light. Avoid placing it near aggressive corals or in areas with strong direct flow that may damage its delicate tentacles.
Additional Notes: Being a Tank-Bred specimen, this anemone is generally hardier and better adapted to aquarium life compared to wild-caught individuals. Regular monitoring and stable tank conditions will ensure longevity and vibrant health.
