The Yellow Tang (Zebrasoma flavescens) is a popular choice among marine aquarists for its striking yellow colour and dynamic presence. Our specimens are tank-bred, ensuring healthier fish with reduced wild collection impact.
Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful but territorial, Yellow Tangs do best in community tanks with other non-aggressive fish. Avoid housing multiple tangs of the same species unless the aquarium is very large to prevent territorial disputes.
Diet: Primarily herbivorous, they thrive on a diet rich in marine algae and seaweed. Supplement with high-quality herbivore flakes or pellets and occasional meaty foods to ensure balanced nutrition.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 75 litres is recommended to provide ample swimming space. Maintain stable water parameters with good filtration and moderate water flow.
Reef Compatibility: Yellow Tangs are generally reef safe and can be kept with corals and invertebrates without issue.
Care Level: Suitable for intermediate aquarists due to their specific dietary needs and territorial behaviour.
