Scolopsis bilineata, commonly known as the two-lined monocle bream, is a visually appealing snapper species prized for its distinctive dual stripe pattern and calm nature. This medium-sized fish is an excellent addition to a mature marine aquarium, offering both beauty and peaceful behaviour.

Care Level: Moderate. This species requires stable water conditions and a suitably sized tank to thrive.

Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful and best kept with other non-aggressive species. It may show mild territorial behaviour but is not overly aggressive, making it compatible with a variety of community marine fish.

Diet: Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet including high-quality frozen or live meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood to ensure optimal health.

Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 150 litres is recommended to provide ample swimming space and reduce stress. The aquarium should be well-established with stable water parameters.

Water Conditions: Maintain temperature between 24-27°C, salinity at 1.023-1.025 SG, and pH between 8.1-8.4. Moderate water flow is preferred to mimic natural conditions.
