Care Level: Moderate. This species requires stable water parameters and a well-maintained aquarium.
Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful but may show mild territorial behaviour towards conspecifics or similar-shaped fish. Compatible with a variety of other peaceful marine species. Avoid aggressive tank mates.
Diet: Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet including high-quality frozen or live meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Supplement with marine pellets or flakes formulated for carnivores.
Tank Requirements: Minimum tank size of 180 litres recommended to provide ample swimming space. Provide plenty of hiding places using live rock formations. Moderate water flow and stable water conditions are essential.
Reef Compatibility: With caution. May prey on small invertebrates or fish fry; monitor closely if housed in reef setups.
Lighting and Water Flow: Standard marine aquarium lighting is sufficient. Moderate water flow replicates natural habitat conditions.
