Care Level: Moderate. This species is hardy but requires stable water parameters and appropriate diet.
Diet: Omnivorous scavenger. Feed a varied diet including meaty marine foods, algae, and detritus. Supplement with sinking pellets or flakes as needed.
Compatibility: Generally peaceful and reef safe, but may compete with other hermit crabs or small invertebrates for shells and food. Avoid housing with aggressive fish or large predatory invertebrates.
Reef Safety: Yes. Dardanus pedunculatus is considered reef safe and does not harm corals or sessile invertebrates.
