Cirrhilabrus scottorum, commonly known as Scott’s Fairy Wrasse, is a stunning addition to any marine aquarium. This large variant displays vivid colours and an active temperament, making it a favourite among marine fish enthusiasts.
Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful, Cirrhilabrus scottorum coexists well with other non-aggressive fish species. It is best kept in a community reef tank with similarly sized or larger peaceful fish. Avoid housing with overly aggressive or much larger predatory species.
Diet: This wrasse thrives on a varied diet including high-quality frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Supplement with quality marine pellets or flakes to ensure balanced nutrition.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 120 litres (approximately 30 gallons) is recommended to provide ample swimming space. The aquarium should be well-established with plenty of live rock for hiding and foraging.
Water Parameters and Environment: Maintain stable marine conditions with a temperature range of 24-27°C, salinity at 1.023-1.025 SG, and pH between 8.1 and 8.4. Moderate water flow and lighting are suitable to mimic their natural reef habitat.
Reef Compatibility: Cirrhilabrus scottorum is considered reef safe and can be kept with corals and invertebrates without issue, provided it is not stressed or overcrowded.
With proper care, this large Cirrhilabrus wrasse will bring vibrant colour and dynamic movement to your marine aquarium.
