This species is best suited to experienced hobbyists due to its specific dietary and environmental needs.

Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful but can be territorial towards conspecifics or similar species. It is best kept singly or as a mated pair in a community tank with other peaceful fish. Avoid housing with aggressive or fin-nipping species.

Diet: Omnivorous with a preference for meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and specialised prepared diets formulated for butterflyfish. Supplement with marine algae and sponge-based foods to mimic natural feeding habits.

Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 150 litres is recommended to provide ample swimming space and reduce territorial behaviour. Maintain stable water parameters with temperatures between 24-27°C, salinity of 1.023-1.025, and pH 8.1-8.4.
