Care Level: Moderate to advanced. This species requires stable water parameters and a mature aquarium setup.
Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial towards conspecifics or similar species. Best kept singly or as a mated pair in larger tanks.

Minimum Tank Size: At least 150 litres (40 gallons) to provide sufficient swimming space and territories.
Reef Safety: With Caution. May nip at coral polyps and sessile invertebrates; not recommended for delicate reef tanks.
Lighting Requirements: Standard marine aquarium lighting suitable for fish; no special lighting needed.
Water Flow: Moderate flow to mimic natural reef environments.
Placement: Provide ample live rock for grazing and hiding spots. Ensure stable water quality with regular maintenance.
Origin: Indo-Pacific region.

Due to their specialised diet and sensitivity, Chaetodon reticulatus is best suited for aquarists with some experience in marine fish care. Regular observation and a varied diet will help maintain health and vibrant colours.
