Centropyge colini, commonly known as Colin’s Angelfish, is a beautifully patterned dwarf angelfish native to the Western Pacific. This species is prized for its vivid colours and intricate markings, making it a standout addition to mature marine aquariums.
Care Level: Moderate to advanced. This species requires stable water conditions and a well-maintained environment.
Temperament: Semi-aggressive. Best kept singly or as a mated pair in larger tanks to minimise territorial disputes.
Diet: Omnivorous. Feed a varied diet including marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, and high-quality angelfish pellets to ensure optimal health.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 120 litres (approximately 30 gallons) is recommended to provide ample swimming space and territories. Provide plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding.
Compatibility: Compatible with other semi-aggressive species but avoid housing with very passive or very aggressive fish. Not reef safe as it may nip at corals and sessile invertebrates.
Lighting and Water Flow: Standard marine aquarium lighting and moderate water flow are suitable.
Origin: Western Pacific Ocean.
Maximum Size: Up to 12 cm (approximately 4.7 inches).
