The Amphiprion sandaracinos, commonly known as the orange skunk clownfish, is a striking addition to any marine aquarium. This small, Tank-Bred specimen features a bright orange body with a distinctive white stripe running along its dorsal ridge, making it a visually appealing choice for both beginner and experienced aquarists.
Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful and non-aggressive, Amphiprion sandaracinos can be kept singly or in pairs. They are compatible with a wide range of peaceful marine species but may show territorial behaviour towards other clownfish. Ideal companions include gobies, blennies, and small wrasses.
Diet: This species is omnivorous and thrives on a varied diet including high-quality marine pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Regular feeding 1-2 times daily is recommended to maintain optimal health.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 75 litres (20 gallons) is advised to provide sufficient swimming space and territory. Amphiprion sandaracinos benefit from the presence of host anemones such as Heteractis magnifica or Stichodactyla gigantea, although they can adapt to aquariums without anemones if provided with ample hiding spots.
Water Parameters and Environment: Maintain stable marine conditions with temperature between 24-27°C, salinity at 1.023-1.025 SG, and pH of 8.1-8.4. Moderate water flow and lighting are suitable, especially if hosting anemones are present.
Reef Safety: Amphiprion sandaracinos is considered reef safe and can be kept in reef aquariums without posing a threat to corals or invertebrates.
