The Amphiprion sandaracinos, commonly referred to as the Large Clownfish, is a captivating addition to any marine aquarium. Recognised for its bright orange body and distinctive white stripe running along the dorsal ridge, this species is a favourite among marine enthusiasts.
Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful, Amphiprion sandaracinos coexists well with other non-aggressive fish species. It is suitable for reef tanks and is considered reef safe, making it an excellent choice for mixed marine setups.
Diet: This clownfish thrives on a varied diet consisting of high-quality marine pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and occasional live foods. Feeding should be done 1-2 times daily to maintain optimal health.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 75 litres is recommended to provide ample swimming space and establish territories. Stable water parameters with temperatures between 24-27°C, salinity of 1.020-1.025 SG, and moderate water flow are ideal.
Care Level: Suitable for intermediate hobbyists, this species benefits from a well-established aquarium with live rock and potential host anemones, although it can adapt to tanks without anemones.
Additional Notes: Amphiprion sandaracinos is a Tank-Bred species, ensuring better adaptation to captive conditions and reducing wild collection impact.
