Acropora suharsonoi is a highly sought-after small polyp stony (SPS) coral known for its vivid colours and complex branching morphology. This extra large specimen offers a stunning focal point for mature reef aquariums.
Lighting Requirements: This coral thrives under strong, high-intensity lighting such as metal halide, T5, or high-output LED systems. Aim for PAR values between 250-400 µmol/m²/s to support optimal photosynthesis.
Water Flow: Moderate to strong, turbulent water flow is essential to prevent detritus accumulation and to promote healthy polyp extension. Avoid direct, constant blasts which may cause tissue damage.
Placement: Position Acropora suharsonoi higher in the tank to ensure adequate light exposure. Provide sufficient spacing from neighbouring corals to reduce aggression and prevent stinging or overgrowth.
Care Level: This species is recommended for experienced aquarists familiar with maintaining stable water parameters and consistent water quality. Regular monitoring of calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium is advised.
Compatibility: Reef safe with adequate spacing from other corals. Avoid placing near aggressive species that may harm its delicate tissue.
Additional Notes: Maintain stable temperature (24-26°C), salinity (1.025-1.026 SG), and low nutrient levels to prevent algae growth and support coral health.
