Care and Husbandry: Lysmata kuekenthali requires stable water parameters typical of reef environments, including a temperature range of 24-27°C, salinity of 1.023-1.025 SG, and well-oxygenated water with moderate flow. Regular water changes and maintaining excellent water quality are essential for their health.
Feeding: This shrimp is omnivorous and will readily accept a varied diet including finely chopped meaty foods, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and specialised invertebrate pellets. Supplementing with algae or biofilm encourages natural foraging behaviour.
Compatibility and Reef Safety: Lysmata kuekenthali is peaceful and reef safe, making it an excellent addition to community reef tanks. It coexists well with corals, fish, and other invertebrates without causing harm.
Placement: Provide plenty of live rock for shelter and grazing. They appreciate crevices and caves where they can retreat and moult safely.
Additional Notes: When introducing Lysmata kuekenthali, ensure the tank is mature and stable. Avoid housing with aggressive species that may prey on or stress the shrimp.
