Amphiprion sandaracinos, commonly known as the Orange Skunk Clownfish, is a striking and popular species for marine aquarium enthusiasts. This listing offers a pair of tank-bred individuals in various sizes, suitable for both beginner and experienced hobbyists.
Appearance: These clownfish display a bright orange body with a distinctive white dorsal stripe running from the snout to the tail, giving them their common name. Their vibrant colours add a lively focal point to any reef or marine tank.
Temperament and Compatibility: Amphiprion sandaracinos are generally peaceful and can be kept with other non-aggressive fish species. They form strong pair bonds and are best housed as a mated pair. While they may show territorial behaviour towards conspecifics or similar clownfish species, they are reef safe and coexist well with corals and invertebrates.
Diet: These clownfish are omnivorous and thrive on a varied diet including high-quality marine pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and algae-based foods. Feeding should be done 1-2 times daily to maintain optimal health.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 75 litres (approximately 20 gallons) is recommended to provide adequate swimming space and territory. Stable water parameters with a temperature range of 24-27°C, salinity of 1.023-1.025 SG, and good filtration are essential.
Care Level: Amphiprion sandaracinos are considered easy to moderate to care for, making them suitable for hobbyists with some marine aquarium experience.
Additional Notes: Providing an anemone such as Heteractis magnifica or Stichodactyla gigantea can encourage natural symbiotic behaviour, though they will also thrive without anemones in a well-maintained reef tank.
