Care Level: Moderate to advanced. This fish requires stable water parameters and a mature tank environment.
Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial with conspecifics or similar species. Best kept singly or in a large tank if multiple individuals are desired.
Diet: Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet of meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, chopped seafood, and specialised pellet or frozen preparations designed for carnivorous marine fish.
Minimum Tank Size: 120 litres (approximately 30 gallons) to provide adequate swimming space and hiding spots.
Reef Safety: With Caution. May prey on small invertebrates and shrimp; not recommended for sensitive reef tanks.
Lighting Requirements: Moderate to low lighting to mimic natural nocturnal conditions.
Water Flow: Moderate water movement is preferred to simulate natural reef environments.
Placement: Provide ample rockwork and caves for daytime shelter. Position in a quieter section of the aquarium to reduce stress.
