Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful but shy, Myripristis amaena is mostly nocturnal and will spend daylight hours sheltering in caves or crevices. It is compatible with a variety of peaceful tank mates but should not be housed with aggressive species that may outcompete or harass it.

Diet: This squirrelfish is carnivorous, feeding primarily on small crustaceans, plankton, and meaty marine foods. A varied diet including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood is recommended to maintain optimal health.
