Temperament: Generally peaceful but may show territorial behaviour towards conspecifics or similar species. Best kept singly or in a large tank with plenty of hiding spaces.
Diet: Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet including frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and specialised marine pellets. Supplement with live foods to encourage natural hunting behaviour.
Minimum Tank Size: 120 litres (approximately 30 gallons) or larger to provide sufficient swimming space and territories.
Lighting Requirements: Standard marine aquarium lighting is suitable. No special lighting needs.
Water Flow: Moderate water flow preferred to mimic natural reef environments.
Placement: Provide ample live rock for hiding and foraging. This species appreciates caves and crevices to retreat into.
Origin: Red Sea and nearby regions.
Maximum Size: Up to 10 cm (4 inches) in length.
Larabicus quadrilineatus is considered reef safe with caution, as it may prey on small invertebrates. Careful monitoring is advised when housed in reef tanks with delicate corals or invertebrates.
