Amphiprion latifasciatus, commonly known as the Pearl Eye Clownfish, is a captivating addition to any marine aquarium. This tank-bred variety ensures healthier specimens adapted to captive conditions, making them an excellent choice for both novice and experienced aquarists.
Temperament and Compatibility: The Pearl Eye Clownfish is generally peaceful but can show territorial behaviour, especially when paired or kept singly. They are compatible with a wide range of peaceful marine species and can be kept in reef aquariums with caution.
Diet: This species thrives on a varied diet including high-quality marine pellets, flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, and brine shrimp. Regular feeding 1-2 times daily supports optimal health and vibrant coloration.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 75 litres (approximately 20 gallons) is recommended to provide ample swimming space and territory. Stable water parameters with temperatures between 24-27°C, salinity of 1.023-1.025 SG, and good filtration are essential.
Reef Compatibility: Reef safe with caution. While generally safe with corals and invertebrates, monitor interactions as some clownfish may occasionally nip at anemones or small invertebrates.
Origin: Native to the Western Indian Ocean, including the Seychelles and Madagascar region.
Maximum Size: Typically grows up to 10 cm (4 inches) in length.
Adding the Pearl Eye Clownfish to your marine setup brings both beauty and personality, making it a rewarding species for your aquarium.
