Care Level: Moderate to advanced. This species requires stable water parameters and a mature aquarium setup.
Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial towards conspecifics or similar species. Best kept singly or as a mated pair in larger tanks.
Diet: Omnivorous. In captivity, provide a varied diet including high-quality marine flakes, pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and marine algae. Supplement with sponge-based foods to mimic natural feeding habits.
Minimum Tank Size: At least 150 litres (40 US gallons) to provide ample swimming space and territory.
Reef Compatibility: With Caution. While generally reef safe, they may nip at coral polyps or clam mantles, so monitor closely if housed in reef environments.
