Sinularia flexibilis is a popular soft leather coral prized for its distinctive flexible, finger-like lobes that sway gracefully in aquarium currents. This large specimen is suitable for marine reef tanks and provides natural movement and texture to your coral display.
Lighting: Moderate lighting is ideal, such as LED or T5 fixtures providing a PAR range of approximately 50-150. Avoid intense direct light to prevent bleaching.
Water Flow: Moderate to strong, indirect water flow is recommended to keep the coral healthy and encourage polyp extension without damaging its delicate tissue.
Placement: Position Sinularia flexibilis in a mid to lower area of the tank where it has space to expand. Ensure adequate spacing from neighbouring corals to prevent aggressive interactions and overgrowth.
Care Level: This coral is considered moderate in care requirements, suitable for hobbyists with some reef experience.
Compatibility: Reef safe with adequate spacing. It can coexist with most peaceful corals and reef inhabitants but may produce chemical defences, so regular water changes and activated carbon filtration are advised.
Feeding: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae but benefits from occasional supplemental feeding of fine particulate foods such as phytoplankton or coral-specific liquid foods.
Additional Notes: Maintain stable water parameters with temperature around 24-26°C, salinity 1.023-1.025, and low nutrient levels to prevent nuisance algae growth.
