Sinularia flexibilis, commonly known as a leather coral, is a popular choice for marine reef aquariums due to its attractive, finger-like polyps and dynamic movement in water currents. This Grade A specimen is offered in an extra large size, making it a striking focal point for mature reef systems.

Lighting Requirements: Moderate to high lighting is recommended to support the coral’s symbiotic zooxanthellae. LED, T5, or metal halide lighting systems are suitable, but avoid sudden intense light to prevent bleaching.

Water Flow: Moderate, indirect water flow is ideal. Strong direct currents can cause tissue damage, while too little flow may lead to detritus accumulation and poor health.

Placement: Position Sinularia flexibilis in the mid to upper regions of the aquarium where it can receive adequate light and water movement. Ensure sufficient spacing from neighbouring corals to prevent aggressive interactions, as this species can extend sweeper tentacles.

Care Level: Moderate. This coral is suitable for aquarists with some reef experience. Stable water parameters and regular maintenance are essential for optimal health.

Diet: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic algae, but benefits from occasional feeding of fine particulate foods such as phytoplankton or coral-specific liquid supplements.
