Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful, the Java Rabbitfish coexists well with other non-aggressive species. It is best kept singly or in pairs to avoid territorial disputes. This species is considered reef safe with caution, as it may nip at certain soft corals and clam mantles.
Diet: Primarily herbivorous, Siganus javus thrives on a diet rich in marine algae and seaweed. Supplement with high-quality herbivore pellets and occasional meaty foods to ensure balanced nutrition.
Tank Requirements: Due to its large adult size, a minimum tank volume of 180 litres (approximately 50 gallons) is recommended. Provide ample swimming space along with live rock for grazing and shelter.
Care Level: Moderate. Requires stable water parameters and a well-established aquarium with mature biological filtration.
