Centropyge Interruptus, commonly known as the Interruptus Angelfish, is a striking dwarf angelfish prized for its vivid coloration and dynamic presence in marine aquariums. This tank-bred specimen ensures healthier, more adaptable fish with reduced wild-capture impact.
Care Level: Moderate to advanced. This species requires stable water conditions and a well-established aquarium.
Temperament: Semi-aggressive. Suitable for community tanks with caution; may show territorial behaviour towards similar species.
Diet: Omnivorous. Provide a varied diet including marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, and specialised angelfish pellets to ensure optimal health.
Minimum Tank Size: 100 litres (approx. 26 gallons) to provide adequate swimming space and territory.
Reef Compatibility: With Caution. May nip at corals and sessile invertebrates; monitor closely in reef setups.
Lighting and Water Flow: Moderate lighting and gentle to moderate water flow replicate natural reef conditions.
Placement: Mid to lower levels of the aquarium, with plenty of live rock for grazing and hiding.
Origin: Tank-bred specimens, originally native to the Eastern Pacific.
Maximum Size: Up to 10 cm (4 inches).
Centropyge Interruptus thrives best in mature aquariums with stable parameters and a balanced diet. Regular observation is recommended to manage any aggressive tendencies and ensure reef harmony.
