Centropyge bispinosa, commonly known as the Coral Beauty Angelfish, is a medium-sized marine fish prized for its vivid blue and orange coloration. This species is a hardy and relatively peaceful dwarf angelfish, making it suitable for many reef aquarium setups.
Care Level: Moderate care is recommended, as this species requires stable water parameters and a well-established tank with plenty of live rock for grazing and shelter.
Temperament: Generally peaceful but can show territorial behaviour towards conspecifics or similar species. Best kept singly or as a mated pair in tanks of adequate size.
Diet: Omnivorous. Feed a varied diet including marine algae, spirulina, mysis shrimp, and high-quality angelfish pellets or flakes. Supplement with live rock to allow natural grazing.
Minimum Tank Size: A minimum of 114 litres (30 gallons) is recommended to provide sufficient swimming space and territory.
Reef Safety: With caution. While generally considered reef safe, some individuals may nip at corals or clam mantles, so monitor behaviour closely.
Lighting & Water Flow: Standard reef aquarium lighting and moderate water flow are suitable to mimic their natural environment.
Placement: Provide ample live rock for grazing and hiding spots. Avoid aggressive tank mates and overcrowding.
Origin: Indo-Pacific region.
Maximum Size: Up to 10 cm (4 inches) in length.
