The Amphiprion ocellaris (Tangerine) is a popular and visually striking species of clownfish, known for its bright orange coloration and white bands. This listing features a tank-bred pair, ensuring healthier specimens that adapt well to aquarium life and help support sustainable marine practices.
Temperament and Compatibility: These clownfish are generally peaceful and can be kept with a variety of other community marine fish. They may show territorial behaviour, especially when paired, but are considered reef safe and compatible with most invertebrates and corals.
Diet: Amphiprion ocellaris are omnivorous and thrive on a varied diet including high-quality marine pellets, flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Feeding should be done 1-2 times daily in small amounts.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 30 gallons (approximately 114 litres) is recommended to provide ample swimming space and stable water conditions. These fish benefit from the presence of host anemones but will also do well in well-established reef tanks without one.
Water Parameters and Care: Maintain stable marine conditions with a temperature range of 24-27°C, salinity of 1.020-1.025 SG, and pH between 8.1-8.4. Moderate water flow and good filtration are essential for their health.
Origin: Tank-bred specimens, bred in captivity to reduce wild collection impact.
