The Amphiprion ocellaris (Naked) is a tank-bred variant of the popular Ocellaris clownfish, known for its vibrant colours and hardy nature. Unlike the typical Ocellaris, the ‘Naked’ variant features a smoother, less textured body appearance, making it a striking addition to any marine aquarium.
Temperament and Compatibility: This species is peaceful and generally compatible with other non-aggressive tank mates. It thrives well in community reef tanks but may show territorial behaviour towards conspecifics or similar clownfish species.
Diet: Amphiprion ocellaris (Naked) are omnivorous and accept a variety of foods including high-quality marine pellets, flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Feeding should be done 1-2 times daily to maintain optimal health.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 30 litres is recommended to provide ample swimming space and stable water conditions. The aquarium should be well-established with live rock for natural grazing and hiding spots.
Water Parameters: Maintain stable marine conditions with temperature between 24-27°C, salinity at 1.023-1.025 SG, pH 8.1-8.4, and moderate water flow.
Reef Compatibility: This clownfish is reef safe and can coexist with corals and invertebrates without causing harm.
Available in various sizes, these tank-bred clownfish are an excellent choice for both beginner and experienced marine aquarists seeking a resilient and visually appealing fish.
