Amphiprion chrysopterus, commonly known as the Orange-fin Anemonefish, is a visually stunning clownfish species prized for its vibrant orange fins and contrasting body colours. This small variant is perfect for marine aquarium enthusiasts seeking a hardy and attractive addition to their tank.
Temperament and Compatibility: Amphiprion chrysopterus is generally peaceful but can exhibit territorial behaviour, especially when paired or during breeding. It is compatible with many peaceful reef inhabitants but should be kept with caution alongside other anemonefish to avoid aggression.
Diet: This species thrives on a varied diet including high-quality marine pellets, flakes, frozen mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Regular feeding 1-2 times daily is recommended to maintain optimal health.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 75 litres is advised to provide ample swimming space and territory. Stable water parameters with temperatures between 24-27°C, salinity of 1.020-1.025 SG, and pH 8.1-8.4 are ideal.
Reef Compatibility: This clownfish is considered reef safe with caution. It generally coexists well with corals and invertebrates but may host in anemones, which require their own specific care.
Care Level: Intermediate – suitable for hobbyists with some marine aquarium experience.
