Acropora spp. (Maricultured) Ultra Extra Large corals are highly sought-after SPS (Small Polyp Stony) corals prized for their intricate branching structures and vibrant colours. These specimens are maricultured, ensuring sustainable sourcing and robust health.
Lighting Requirements: Acropora spp. demand intense lighting, ideally provided by high-quality LED, T5, or metal halide systems. Aim for a PAR range of 250-400 µmol/m²/s to support photosynthesis and vibrant pigmentation.
Water Flow: Strong, turbulent water flow is essential to replicate natural reef conditions. This promotes gas exchange, nutrient delivery, and waste removal, helping to prevent tissue necrosis.
Placement: Position this coral in the upper to middle regions of the aquarium to maximise light exposure. Ensure adequate spacing from neighbouring corals to reduce aggression and allow for healthy growth.
Care Level: Due to their sensitivity to water quality and environmental changes, Acropora spp. are best suited to advanced aquarists with stable, mature reef systems.
Additional Notes: Maintain pristine water parameters with stable alkalinity (8-12 dKH), calcium (400-450 ppm), and magnesium (1250-1350 ppm). Regular monitoring and supplementation are recommended to support skeletal growth.
