Overview: The Serranus tigrinus, or Harlequin Basslet, is a visually captivating marine fish prized for its distinctive tiger-like markings and peaceful nature. This species is an excellent addition to reef aquariums, offering both colour and interest without aggressive behaviour.

Temperament and Compatibility: Generally peaceful and suitable for community reef tanks. Can coexist with other non-aggressive fish species. Avoid housing with large predatory fish that may view it as prey.
Diet: Carnivorous. Feed a varied diet including high-quality frozen or live foods such as brine shrimp, mysis shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Supplement with quality pellet or flake foods formulated for carnivores.
Minimum Tank Size: A minimum of 120 litres (approximately 30 gallons) is recommended to provide adequate swimming space and territory.
