Acropora dendrum is a striking Small Polyp Stony (SPS) coral prized for its delicate branching structure and vibrant colours. This medium-sized specimen is suitable for marine aquarists with some experience in SPS coral husbandry.
Lighting: This coral thrives under moderate to high-intensity lighting, such as metal halide, T5, or high-quality LED systems, to support its photosynthetic zooxanthellae.
Water Flow: Strong, turbulent water movement is essential to maintain coral health, aid nutrient exchange, and prevent detritus accumulation.
Placement: Position Acropora dendrum in the upper to middle regions of the aquarium where it can receive optimal light and flow. Ensure adequate spacing from neighbouring corals to prevent aggression and tissue damage.
Care Level: Moderate to advanced. Stable water parameters and regular maintenance are crucial for success.
Compatibility: Reef safe with adequate spacing. Avoid placing near aggressive corals that may overgrow or sting.
Regular monitoring of water quality, including calcium, alkalinity, and magnesium, will support healthy skeletal growth. Supplementary feeding with coral foods can be beneficial but is not mandatory.
