Due to the genus-level identification, care recommendations are conservative. Symphyllia spp. thrive best under moderate lighting conditions, such as T5 fluorescents or LED setups with moderate PAR levels. Avoid intense direct light to prevent bleaching.

Water flow should be moderate and indirect to gently move water around the coral without causing tissue damage. Placement in the lower to middle regions of the tank is ideal, allowing the coral to extend its polyps comfortably.

Ensure adequate spacing from neighbouring corals to prevent aggressive interactions, as Symphyllia spp. can extend sweeper tentacles. This coral is generally reef safe with caution, suitable for reef tanks with compatible species.

Regular water quality maintenance and stable parameters are essential for long-term health. Feeding with meaty foods such as mysis shrimp or specialised coral foods can promote growth and vibrancy.
