Care Level: Moderate to advanced care is recommended due to its size and activity level.
Temperament: Generally peaceful but can be territorial with conspecifics or smaller fish. Best kept singly or in a large group with plenty of swimming space.
Diet: Omnivorous – thrives on a varied diet including high-quality frozen or live meaty foods such as mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and chopped seafood, supplemented with marine pellets and flakes.
Minimum Tank Size: A minimum of 300 litres (approximately 80 gallons) is advised to accommodate its active swimming and growth potential.
Lighting & Water Flow: Standard marine aquarium lighting and moderate water flow are suitable.
Placement: Mid to lower levels of the tank, with ample open swimming areas and some rockwork for shelter.
Origin: Native to the western Atlantic Ocean, including the Caribbean Sea.
