The Chaetodontoplus cephalareticulatus x personifer is a captivating hybrid angelfish, bred in captivity to ensure health and adaptability in marine aquarium settings. This tank-bred specimen is available in various sizes, making it suitable for a range of aquarium setups.
Temperament and Compatibility: Generally semi-aggressive, this angelfish can be territorial, especially towards conspecifics or similar species. It is best housed with other semi-aggressive or robust tank mates. Avoid keeping with very small or timid fish to prevent stress.
Diet: Omnivorous by nature, this angelfish thrives on a varied diet including high-quality marine angelfish pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and marine algae. Supplementing with sponge-based foods is beneficial to mimic natural feeding habits.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 180 litres (approximately 50 gallons) is recommended to provide ample swimming space and territories. Stable water parameters with temperatures between 24-27°C, salinity of 1.023-1.025 SG, and pH 8.1-8.4 are ideal.
Reef Compatibility: With caution. While generally reef safe, this species may nip at sessile invertebrates such as corals and clams. Monitor behaviour closely in reef environments.
Care Level: Moderate to advanced. Suitable for aquarists with some experience in maintaining marine angelfish and managing semi-aggressive species.
