Amplexidiscus fenestrafer, commonly known as the green mushroom coral, is a captivating soft coral prized for its large, fleshy polyp and vibrant green coloration. This large specimen is an excellent addition to mature reef aquariums, offering both visual appeal and interesting behaviour.

Lighting: Moderate lighting is recommended to maintain optimal health and coloration. Avoid intense direct light which may cause bleaching.

Water Flow: Low to moderate water flow is ideal. Strong currents can cause the polyp to retract and stress the coral.

Placement: Position the coral on a stable rock or substrate in a shaded or semi-shaded area of the tank. Ensure adequate spacing from neighbouring corals to prevent aggression or stinging.

Care Level: Moderate. Suitable for aquarists with some experience in maintaining soft corals.

Diet: Primarily photosynthetic via symbiotic zooxanthellae, but will benefit from occasional target feeding of small meaty foods such as phytoplankton or coral-specific liquid foods.

Compatibility: Reef safe with adequate spacing. Avoid placing near aggressive corals that may overgrow or sting.
