The Lightning Clownfish (Amphiprion biaculeatus gibbosus) is a visually captivating marine fish prized for its distinctive lightning bolt-like white markings across a dark body. This variant is tank-bred in controlled environments, ensuring hardiness and adaptation to aquarium life.
Temperament and Compatibility: This species is generally peaceful and can coexist well with other non-aggressive fish. However, like all clownfish, it may exhibit territorial behaviour, especially when paired or during breeding. It is suitable for community reef tanks with compatible species.
Diet: The Lightning Clownfish is omnivorous and thrives on a varied diet including high-quality marine pellets, frozen mysis shrimp, brine shrimp, and finely chopped seafood. Regular feeding 1-2 times daily is recommended.
Tank Requirements: A minimum tank size of 75 litres (approximately 20 gallons) is advised to provide ample swimming space and territory. Stable water parameters with a temperature range of 24-27°C, salinity of 1.023-1.025 SG, and pH between 8.1-8.4 are ideal.
Reef Compatibility: This clownfish is reef safe and can be kept with corals and anemones. It may host in certain anemone species but can also thrive without one.
Care Level: Suitable for intermediate aquarists due to its hardy nature and adaptability.
