Zoanthus spp. (Black Hole Sun) is a stunning soft coral frag prized for its vivid colours and dynamic appearance in reef aquariums. This tank-bred frag is cultured under controlled conditions, ensuring healthy growth and acclimatisation to captive environments.
Lighting: Moderate to high lighting is recommended to maintain vibrant colours and healthy polyp extension. LED or T5 lighting systems are suitable.
Water Flow: Moderate, indirect water flow is ideal to keep the polyps gently swaying without causing damage or excessive debris accumulation.
Placement: Position the frag on rockwork or substrate where it can receive adequate light and flow. Allow sufficient spacing from neighbouring corals to prevent aggression or overgrowth.
Care Level: Moderate. Zoanthus spp. are generally hardy but benefit from stable water parameters and regular monitoring.
Compatibility: Reef safe with adequate spacing. Avoid placing too close to aggressive corals that may overgrow or sting.
Diet: Primarily photosynthetic, but occasional feeding of microplankton or coral foods can enhance growth.
Additional Notes: Handle with care as some Zoanthids may produce palytoxin. Always wear gloves and wash hands thoroughly after handling.
