About Us

These Terms & Conditions govern your use of the website at mantarea.com and any purchase you make from Manta Rea Aquatics (“we“, “us“, “our“).

Manta Rea Aquatics is a specialist saltwater livestock and marine equipment retailer based in Northern Ireland, United Kingdom. By accessing our website or placing an order, you agree to be bound by these terms. Please read them carefully before making a purchase.

If you do not agree with any part of these terms, please do not use our website or place an order.

Section 02

Placing Orders

By placing an order on mantarea.com you confirm that:

You are at least 18 years of age.
The personal and payment details you provide are accurate and complete.
You are legally capable of entering into a binding contract.
You will be present to accept delivery on the scheduled delivery date.

All orders are subject to availability and acceptance by us. We reserve the right to refuse or cancel any order at our discretion, including where livestock is unavailable, where payment cannot be processed, or where we suspect fraudulent activity. If we cancel your order, you will receive a full refund.

An order confirmation email does not constitute acceptance of your order — acceptance occurs when we dispatch the goods and send you a dispatch confirmation with tracking details.

Section 03

Pricing & Payment

All prices are displayed in pounds sterling (GBP) and are inclusive of VAT where applicable. Shipping costs are calculated at checkout and will be clearly shown before you confirm your order.

We make every effort to ensure prices on the site are accurate. In the event of a pricing error, we will notify you as soon as possible and give you the option to proceed at the correct price or cancel your order for a full refund.

Payment is required in full at the time of placing your order. We accept all major credit and debit cards and other payment methods as displayed at checkout. All payment processing is handled securely by our payment provider — we do not store your card details.

Section 04

Shipping & Delivery

We ship from Northern Ireland using professional couriers (UPS, FedEx, DHL). Most orders are dispatched Monday–Wednesday for next-day or overnight delivery Tuesday–Thursday. We do not dispatch on Thursdays or Fridays where avoidable, to reduce the risk of weekend delays.

You will receive a tracking number when your order is dispatched. It is your responsibility to monitor tracking and ensure someone is available to accept the package at the delivery address on the scheduled date.

Important: Delivery must be accepted regardless of the condition of the outer packaging. These are live animals — refusing delivery will void any DOA claim and we cannot be held responsible for subsequent losses.

We are not responsible for delays caused by couriers, extreme weather, or circumstances beyond our control. Shipping charges are non-refundable once an order has been dispatched.

Section 05

Livestock & DOA Policy

All livestock is sold as live animals. Due to the perishable nature of fish, corals, and invertebrates, special conditions apply to all livestock purchases.

Live Arrival Guarantee

We offer a Live Arrival Guarantee on all shipped livestock, subject to compliance with our DOA procedure. If an animal arrives deceased, we will issue a replacement or store credit of equal value at our discretion. We do not offer cash refunds for DOA livestock.

DOA Procedure

To make a valid DOA claim you must:

Contact us within 60 minutes of delivery by phone, email, or WhatsApp.
Submit clear photo and video evidence (unboxing video, sealed-bag photo, dead animal photo) within 1 hour of delivery.
Not discard the deceased animal or its packaging until instructed — freeze if return shipping is not immediately possible.

Livestock Exclusions

The Live Arrival Guarantee does not apply where:

The DOA procedure is not followed within the required timeframes.
Delivery was refused or the customer was not present at the first delivery attempt.
The package was forwarded, misdelivered, or rescheduled by the customer.
The loss is attributable to carrier delay, extreme weather, or other circumstances beyond our control.
The order was collected in-store or locally (separate policy applies).
Note on livestock suitability: It is your responsibility to ensure your aquarium is properly cycled, adequately sized, and suitable for the species you are purchasing before placing an order. We are not liable for losses caused by unsuitable tank conditions after delivery.
Section 06

Returns & Cancellations

Cancellations

You may cancel an order for non-livestock items before dispatch for a full refund. Once dispatched, orders cannot be cancelled. To cancel, contact us immediately at customerservice@mantarea.com or call +44 28 9360 3484.

Due to their perishable nature, livestock orders cannot be cancelled once a dispatch date has been agreed and preparation has begun.

Returns — Non-Livestock Items

Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013 (UK), you have the right to cancel most non-livestock orders within 14 days of receiving them without giving a reason. You then have a further 14 days to return the goods. Items must be returned in their original condition and packaging. Return shipping costs are your responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied.

To initiate a return, contact us at customerservice@mantarea.com with your order number.

Faulty or Incorrect Items

If you receive a faulty or incorrectly supplied non-livestock item, please contact us within 30 days of delivery. We will arrange a replacement or full refund including return postage costs.

Livestock returns: Due to biosecurity and animal welfare requirements, livestock cannot be returned. The DOA Policy is the sole remedy for deceased livestock on arrival.
Section 07

Liability

Nothing in these terms limits or excludes our liability for death or personal injury caused by our negligence, fraud or fraudulent misrepresentation, or any other liability that cannot be excluded under UK law.

Subject to the above, our total liability to you in connection with any order shall not exceed the total amount paid by you for that order.

We are not liable for:

Losses caused by circumstances beyond our reasonable control (including courier failures, extreme weather, or natural disasters).
Livestock losses caused by unsuitable tank conditions, inadequate acclimatisation, or failure to follow care instructions.
Any indirect, consequential, or economic loss arising from your purchase.
The content or availability of third-party websites linked from our site.

As a consumer, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Rights Act 2015 and other UK consumer protection legislation. Nothing in these terms affects those rights.

Intellectual Property

All content on mantarea.com — including text, images, logos, graphics, and software — is the property of Manta Rea Aquatics or our licensors and is protected by copyright and other intellectual property laws.

You may not reproduce, distribute, or use any content from this website without our prior written permission, except as permitted by law (e.g. sharing links or fair use for personal, non-commercial purposes).

Privacy

Your use of mantarea.com is also governed by our Privacy Policy and Cookie Policy, both of which are incorporated into these Terms & Conditions by reference. Please review them carefully to understand how we collect, use, and protect your personal data.

Section 10

Governing Law

These Terms & Conditions are governed by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes arising from your use of this website or from a purchase will be subject to the exclusive jurisdiction of the courts of England and Wales, except where you are a consumer resident in Northern Ireland or Scotland, in which case you may also bring proceedings in your local courts.

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may also have rights under the laws of your country of residence and may use the EU Online Dispute Resolution platform at ec.europa.eu/consumers/odr.

Changes to These Terms

We may update these Terms & Conditions from time to time. Any changes will be posted on this page with an updated “last updated” date. Your continued use of the website after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the revised terms.

For orders already placed, the terms in effect at the time of your order will apply.
